Indoor SLAM Using Kinect Sensor | IJSTE JOURNAL VOL 2, ISS 10

Indoor SLAM Using Kinect Sensor The field of automation has gained a lot of importance in recent years due to its ability to reduce human efforts. Today a number of systems hitherto operated manually have been automated and are now operated by robotic systems. In various military and industrial applications, automaton can help avoid loss of unnecessary human lives. A single robotic system can accomplish a task which otherwise required the efforts of a number of humans. Such robotic systems can be used to accomplish trivial tasks that do not require human instinct. The “Simultaneous Localization and Mapping” (SLAM) system will allow a user to map an unknown environment using a robotic system. In this project SLAM has been implemented using a Kinect sensor (mounted on a moving platform) to generate a 2-D /3-D map of an unknown indoor environment. This map can be viewed on various devices using a corresponding GUI and will allow users to understand the internal layout of any structure...

Factors Affecting Buying Behaviour of Rural Consumers in Dilla, Ethiopia | IJSTE JOURNAL VOL 2, ISS 10

Factors Affecting Buying Behaviour of Rural Consumers in Dilla, Ethiopia The study is done to identify the factors affecting buying decisions of rural consumers and whether importance of these factors varies with age and income of respondents. The factors taken into consideration by the rural consumers for purchasing a commodity are price, quality, warranty, advertisement, brand, friend’s recommendations, family members recommendation and packaging. It was found that factors have an impact on rural consumer and it varies with age and income. Importance of all factors in buying behaviour of rural consumer found increasing trend with increase in their age and income. The effect of price and quality on buying behaviour of rural consumer increases significantly with increase in age and income. Advertisement and brand of products found significantly very important to high income rural consumers than lower income consumers. Friends and family members’ recommendations had significantly m...

Study of Effect of Location of Lift Core Shear wall under Earthquake Load | IJSTE JOURNAL VOL 2, ISS 7

Study of Effect of Location of Lift Core Shear wall under Earthquake Load Increased frequency and intensity of earthquake fetching a need of more earthquake resistance in building. Shear wall is the best way to control deflection during earthquake. But the providing shear wall is sometimes not feasible and hence avoided. Lift core, which are the mandatory to be used in multi-storey building and are frequently used as core type shear wall can be best option. In general, lift cores are provided with convenience of users. In this paper, various positions of lift core are modelled and were analysed under static earthquake loading in V earthquake zone of India. The results were compared with bare frame. A Review of Design and Development of Plastic Injection Molding Machine to Enhance the Efficiency | IJSTE JOURNAL VOL 1, ISS 6

A Review of Design and Development of Plastic Injection Molding Machine to Enhance the Efficiency Injection molding has been a challenging process for many manufacturers and researchers to produce products meeting requirement at the lowest cost. The quality of molded part can be classified into four categories: part design, mold design, machine performance and process conditions. The development of unique technologies for high accuracy, high speed injection molding machine including a high rigidity, high speed driving mechanism and high dispersion, high speed plasticization mechanism through the structure analysis technology, flow analysis technology and control simulation technology. The each process variable can be categorized into one of five main types such as speed, pressure, time, Temperature and stroke. The cooling time period is depended on the general shape of the component, the wall thickness of the component, and type of material being processed. The cooling time can re...
